The common and most frequently carried out pool repairs include; waterproofing, repairing of cracks, leaks and slippery surfaces. When good care is not taken, then frequent repairs are inevitable and as we know, these repairs come at a cost. Despite the cost, the entire process of frequent repairs can be avoided.  Always try to keep your pool in a tip top shape. Make sure that your pool is running at recommended levels and do something extra each day to ensure the safe operations of your dear pool. The following are helpful tips on how to avoid swimming pools repairs.
  • Pumps and filter systems
Pumps and filter systems are very fundamental in your pool. Always keep them clean at all times. They have been found to be the most frequently replaced in a swimming pool and yet the easiest to maintain. So always keep them clean and checked at all times, to avoid uncalled for costs.
  • Water levels
Keep your water level at an optimum. Do not have too much water or too little. When there is no enough water in the pool, the pumps and filters work overtime to have enough water running in the pipes and this is dangerous as it shortens the life of the pumps. On the other hand, when the water levels are high, the walls are unnecessarily strained and this can lead to them cracking.
  • Pool inspections
Make it a routine to inspect your pool for any signs of damages. Inspections help you notice potential damages before they occur and this can save you money, before a damage occurs. Do inspections inside, outside and of systems of your pool each week, and you will definitely notice a potential crack on your pool.
  • Balanced water chemistry
It is always advisable to test your water chemical levels on weekly basis and balance them if necessary, to avoid coatings on your pool surface, which on the other hand are hard to get rid of. Always pay attention to the P.H levels and the alkalinity of your water.
  • Have maintenances carried out
If you ae not experienced to carry out pool maintenances, always have an expert do it for you. For instance if your water becomes cloudy, have an expert check it and do the necessary. Always have the minor repairs carried out rather than waiting for major damages that will definitely cost you more.
  • Back washes
Never back wash the sand filters of your pool too often. The recommended way to handle the back washes is always to have an expert do it for you. You can always find these pool experts within your area of residence.
  • Dissolved solids
Check your dissolved solids at a regular basis. The total dissolved solids in your pool water need to be checked in about every six months as experts recommend. To have them checked, you can take samples of your pool water to the experts for recommendation and for a monthly maintenance, which will be administered at a cheaper cost, rather than waiting for expensive eventualities.

Pools are made watertight but over time and use, the sealants used will wear out and parts of the pool would meet with erosion. Leaks can start through disorders in fittings or accessories or due to wear and tear of plumbing. So before those leaks cause big trouble to the pool, fix those leaks immediately.
